]po[ is one of the worlds biggest FOSS application with almost one million lines of code

Correctly used ]project-open[ can be quite a powerful software solution. As usual, powerful tools are complex to implement in an organization.

During the implementation of an integrated IT system your organization will have to overcome a number of obstacle mainly in the fields of technology, business processes and organizational behavior. Consulting services help to streamline the implementation process.

This guideline describes the implementation process in mid size / large enterprises. Implementing ]po[ for small organization usually does not require profound analysis and other exhaustive measures. Organizations with strong technical and organizational skills can overcome these barriers by themselves. Other organizations will need consulting in order to implement ]po[ (or any other system) successfully.

Scope of the document

This document is rather an organizational guideline, than a technical Handbook or a step-by-step manual. It is targeted to the following groups:

It is assumed that the reader disposes of basic technical and PM skills.
